RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER (ADMN.) AND PRINCIPALS - 2012
NavodayaVidyalayaSamiti (NVS), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, invites ON-LINE applications through the link available on NVS Website, from eligible Indian nationals for filling up of vacancies for the posts of Assistant Commissioner(Admn.) and Principals from Gen./OBC/SC/ST/PH Categories on DIRECT RECRUITMENT BASIS.
JawaharNavodayaVidyalayas are co-educational, fully residential schools up to Senior Secondary level and are located mainly in rural areas. At present 584 JNVs are functioning all over the country. Being fully residential institutions, the Principals/ teachers are required to stay in the Vidyalaya campus for which rent free accommodation as available will be provided.
Details regarding essential and desirable qualifications for both the categories of posts, Pay Scales, Age limit, Relaxation of age, Mode of Selection and other related details are given below. Reservation for various categories viz. SC, ST, OBC & PH will be allowed as per Govt. of India instructions. In addition to the pay scale and grade pay, selected Principals will be entitled to draw admissible allowance besides 10% special pay for performing additional residential duties.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
1. Graduate from a recognized University.
2. Holding analogous post on regular basis OR
with 08 years service in the scale of Rs.6500-10500 (pre-revised),
Rs.9300-34800 with grade pay Rs.4600 (revised)
3. Possessing Experience of handling Administration / Financial
matters in the responsible capacity in Central / State Govt. /
Autonomous / Statutory Organization.
Age Limit :Upto 45 years.
B PRINCIPALS

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
1. Master’s Degree from the recognized University with at least 50%
marks.
2. B.Ed. or equivalent teaching degree.
3. Persons working in any of the Govt. / Semi-Govt./ Govt. recognized
/ CBSE affiliated Sr. Secondary (10+2) schools / InterCollege.
(a) Holding analogous post, or
(b) Vice-Principal in the scale of Rs.7500-12000 (pre-revised) /
Rs.15600-39100 with grade pay of Rs.5400 (revised) with 10
years experience / service as PGT/Lecturer in the scale of Rs.6500-
10,500 / 7500-12,000 (pre-revised) or
(c ) A minimum of 12 years experience / service as PGT/Master / Lecturer in the scale of Rs.6500-10,500 (pre-revised) /Rs.9300-34800 with grade pay of Rs.4800 (revised) or equivalent in a senior secondary school.
Desirable
1 At least three years experience as House Master of a fully residential school.
2. Experience of working in a fully residential / CBSE affiliated / Govt. recognized school.
3. Proficiency in English and Hindi / concerned Regional language.
Age : Between 35 to 45 years.
Eligibility of Applicants
The Cut-Off date for determining various eligibility criteria (Educational Qualifications, age limit etc.) will be 26.06.2012. Applicants must satisfy about their eligibility before applying.
AGE RELAXATION
Maximum relaxation in upper age will be as under:
(a) Up to a maximum of Five years in the case of SC/ST candidates.
(b) Up to a maximum of Three years in the case of OBC candidates.
(c) Up to a maximum of Five years in the case of Govt. servants / NVS regular employees.
An applicant claiming age relaxation under this para should produce a certificate from his/her employer to the effect that he/she is a Govt. servant as on the date of advertisement.
(d) Up to a maximum of 10 years in the case of Physically Handicapped.
EXCEPT PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CANDIDATES, ALL THE CONCESSIONS MENTIONED ABOVE WILL BE CONCURRENT, THAT IS, IF A PERSON IS ELIGIBLE FOR MORE THAN ONE CONCESSION, ONLY ONE OF THE CONCESSIONS OF THE HIGHLY PERMISSIBLE LIMIT WILL BE GRANTED.
MODE OF SELECTION
1. The Written Examination for the recruitment to the above posts will be held at Delhi on August 05, 2012.
2. Blind candidates will be allowed to take the assistance of scribes (to be arranged by the candidates) at the respective Examination Centre who will assist them in the examination process. Such candidate must write clearly about their disability in the application form. An extra time of 20minutes per hour of examination will be given to such candidates.
3. Candidates will be required to download the call letter from Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti’s website i.e. “www.navodaya.nic.in”. Candidates will be intimated about the same by e-mail & SMS.
